I live in upstate New York in a small town just east of Rochester with my wife and young son. Most of my photos are taken in the nearby Finger Lakes region, the Adirondack mountains, Vermont, or Pennsylvania. As you can see I usually take pictures of sticks and rocks and water - stuff like that. Sometimes I do other things, but they just don't hold my attention like natural objects.

I have a bachelors degree in chemistry and environmental studies from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN and a masters degree in organic chemistry from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. Oddly my day job is programming computers for a medical laboratory.

Family, work and photography take up most of my time, but when I get a chance I like to ride my motorcycle, read books, tour art museums, play sports, build things, and go to the symphony.

After years of using a film camera, I now use a digital. I miss the tactile experience of film and the smell of the chemicals. On the other hand, I like the flexibility and immediacy that I get with digital - besides the chemicals probably weren't all that good for me or the environment anyway.
